President, J.R. (Dick) Lyon: Dick has been involved in the Lynx ministries since 1973, serving in retreat ministries and as a member of the Board of Directors. He has been part of the growth of the Fellowship from a single bus serving the youth of Central Florida to today's status. Dick is an engineer, having graduated in 1958 from the University of Kentucky. The highlight of Dick's professional career has been his role in the development of NASA Kennedy Space Center's human space flight facilities for the Apollo Lunar Landing, the Space Shuttle, and the Space Station. His career with NASA spanned 33 years, 16 of which he served in a senior management position. Dick has served as Vice President of Caelum Research Corporation of Rockville, MD and currently serves as the executive VP of the 600-man ASRC Aerospace Corporation. ASRC has a contract with NASA to advise on the Orbital Space Flight Program, which includes the new space vehicles that support the orbiting Space Station.
Secretary/Treasurer, Gary Large: Following his graduation from the University of Florida Law School in 1974, Gary practiced law in Brevard County, Florida, until his retirement in June, 2010. He spent over 25 years in private practice, in Titusville, Florida. Gary also served as an Assistant State Attorney and a Hearing Officer/General Master for the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit, Florida, for many years. Gary is an active member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Titusville, Florida and has served as an Elder there for several years. He has been a part of Fellowship of Christians in Action since 1983 and served in the retreat ministry and as a Board member for many years.
Director, Kevin L. Burkett: Kevin is a 1978 graduate of Purdue University and is a construction manager for Huber, Hunt & Nichols, a commercial construction company in Orlando, Florida. Kevin is an original member of the land acquisition group of the property now known as Eagle Rock. Kevin has been increasingly affiliated with the FCIA ministry since 1990 and now serves as a board member. Kevin also serves as an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando where he been active in youth ministry, outreach, and missions.
Director, Jack Gillooly: Jack graduated from the Naval Academy and served a distinguished career in the Navy as a carrier pilot, captain of the aircraft carrier Wasp, and finally the Naval Training Center in Orlando, Florida. After his retirement from the Navy, Jack became the Director of the Orlando International Airport. After 12 years of service at the Airport, Jack continued as a consultant to many international airports around the country. He is active in the Cursillo Christian Movement and the Florida Hospital Board of Directors. He attends Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida.
Director, Ralph Martinez: Ralph received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida in 1973, and his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida State University in 1976. The Florida Supreme Court admitted Mr. Martinez to practice in Florida in 1977. In 2003, He was nominated by the President of the United States to serve as a public delegate, representing the United States before the United Nations 57th General Assembly. Mr. Martinez currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Richmond and served previously on the Board of Directors of Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida.
Director, David Cockrill: David is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from University of Tennessee, majoring in Architecture while playing basketball on U.T.’s famous Ernie and Bernie team. After becoming president of the Memphis Chapter American Institute of Architects in 1995, David moved his family to East Tennessee where he is president and principal owner of Red Chair Architects (www.redchairarchitects.com) located in downtown Knoxville. His firm is a generalized practice with design and master planning experience in medical, educational, civic and many other project types. Although David is passionate about his work, his priorities lie in his deep relationships with Jesus Christ, his wife, Mary Kathryn and his two adult daughters, Katie and Dacey. He’s pretty proud of his son-in-law, Joe Pendley (Katie) too. David is the President of the Sojourners Sunday School class at Fairview UMC in Maryville, and in his spare time enjoys hiking, biking and boating.
Director, Reid Cox: Reid joined the Eagle Rock board in 2014. He was born in Anderson, SC, but raised in Atlanta, GA where he attended local elementary and high schools. Reid began his college career at Clemson University, but transferred to and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1979. After recieveing his undergraduate degree, he attended and graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1984 with a Masters of Divinity. Since 1987, he has been a ‘tentmaker’, working at the J. Rolfe Davis Insurance Agency in Orlando. Reid has been married to the former Jan Hatcher since 1987 and father to two wonderful children, Jenny and Will. He and his family have worshipped and been active at the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando since 1986 – serving in different capacities. Reid has loved serving during the Eagle Rock/First Pres weekend in November for many years.
