He studied and trained at Dr. Solomon's Grace Fellowship International and attended Dr. Larry Crabb's Institute of Biblical Counseling. He has served on the pastoral staffs of The Messenger, a private Christian counseling ministry, and All Saints Episcopal Church of Winter Park. Lon is a co-founder of the House of Hope, a home for runaway and throw-away teenage girls in Orlando. After volunteering for many years with Fellowship of Christians in Action (the Lynx ministry), God gave Lon a vision forEagle Rock in 1991. In addition to his job as Administrator and Spiritual Director of Eagle Rock, Lon works with mentally handicapped adults in Maryville, TN and co-teaches the Sojourner Sunday School class at Fairview United Methodist Church. Lon counsels teenagers and young adults and mentors married couples as a part of his ministry at Eagle Rock. In his spare time, Lon enjoys his season tickets, cheering the UT Volunteers at Thompson-Boling arena.
